Work Trips
Service
to others is not only a concept at University Christian Church, it is a commitment. Every year members
of our church, from the youth group to our seniors, trek the world over
helping others.
Kenya, Africa In 2000, we sent a group of eight along with people from the Mission Hills Methodist and Community Presbyterian churches for a life-changing three week mission trip to Kenya, Africa where we dug a well for fresh water for street children and participated in agricultural projects.
Pinalejo, Honduras A work trip in 2005 staffed a medical clinic with volunteers providing essential, basic medical services to the poor and underprivileged. Members also excavated a pond to raise tilapia, brought school supplies to a remote elementary school and established the University Christian Church Honduran Scholarship Fund.
Gulf Coast Region In 2005, more than 50 members made four trips to the Gulf Coast region to assist in rebuilding after Katrina.
Tegucigalpa, Honduras In 2009 we built a
playground for preschool children who previously only had soccer ball
and flag pole to play around.
